The story of the Fishboa
It all started small. In my grandfather's garden, there was a small smoke where the smell of freshly caught fish mixed with seaweed and sea breezes. This is where the idea of harnessing the treasures of the sea and allowing more people to enjoy the taste of great seafood was born. What started as a simple smoke, soon grew into something bigger. With persistence, a love of the sea and a sense of craftsmanship, Fiskeboa was created - a place where tradition and quality have always come before shortcuts. Over the years, the business developed, and what was once a small stall soon became an obvious meeting place for both islanders and visitors. Fiskeboa grew, not only in range but also in scale. From a single stall, it became two fish stalls, filled with fresh fish, seafood and homemade delicacies, one on Vrångö and one on Donsö.
But the journey did not end there. We didn't just want to sell the delights of the sea - we wanted to serve them too. That's why we opened Hamnkrogen Lotsen on Vrångö, a waterfront restaurant where guests can sit down, feel the salt spray from the sea and enjoy the same ingredients that have always been at the heart of our history. Today, Fiskeboa is more than a shop with its own restaurant. It is a living part of the archipelago - a place where the tradition of the sea meets community, and where every meal carries a bit of that first smoke in grandpa's garden.
